Some of you may remember the recent American - Canadian Men's and Women's Gold medal Olympic Hockey games played in Canada recently. The Cannucks won and since then the Eskimos have had a real attitude problem. The Canadian women players actually taunted the American team after they beat them for the Gold and pulled out Cuban cigars and French champagne and proceeded to classily drink and smoke on the ice. In yo face! So the Canadian Canuckleheads have some Entitlement Issues! Toby hasn't took off his Sydney Crosby official Canadian Olympik Hockey Jersey in over a month and finally a anonymous person called the State Department (perhaps a guy named Barry Jr?). Consequently, an official investigation was opened and today Mr. Maple Leaf himself Toby Nunn got notice that he is being deported for "crimes of moral turpitude", "excessive celebration" and "dancing like he has two left feet". Senior "Vanco" does not qualify for temporary protected status, asylum, refugee status, nor pity and has been asked to leave Texas soil by midnight tonight sometime before dawn April 2nd, 2010. If caught after that date, Mr. Toby James Tiberius Nunn will be forced to revoke his Canadian passport and accept full American citizenship. As further punishment Mr. Nunn will be banned from saying anything again remotely Canadian like eh, boot, hosed, beauuty and/or ever again pronouncing schedule shhedwill. Hence to say, Toby is in flight like a spawning Chinook, and won't be posting any blogs here in the near future. Those who wish to contribute hard cash to the miscreants cause may do so by mailing unmarked bills in small denominations to: Toby Nunn Fan Club % Jeff Bader Publicist Moku Manu Tribe Tahitian Village, Tejas 2
PS (FYI the exchange rate between American and Canadian currancy is 0.9867453423444)

Today I had the honor of driving the SA pickup truck down to San Antonio to deliver school supplies to the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAM-C) Fisher Houses Manager and Angel Inge G. for the kids staying there. The Fisher Houses for you newbies, or those of you who haven't been paying close attention, houses our severely wounded soldiers and their families while those heroes are undergoing surgeries and rehabilitation. Some of these soldiers and their families will be here for YEARS! and I've personally met several husbands and wives, moms and dads who have quit their jobs and sold their homes in order to be with their loved ones in their moments of most need. I can only imagine how hard and emotionally draining it is for a young wife of a wounded soldier who also is a young mother. For most of the kids living at the Fisher Houses located here in San Antonio, this will be a new school for them, and under the circumstances, I'm sure someplace they'll never forget. America's Favorite Mom wanted to help out and give these kids all the necessary tools they would need for school and when I heard what she was up to, I quickly volunteered myself for the job. Contrary to what my parents think, I actually went to school, once, in a while, and own a bonefied degree from a legitimate university of higher learning that automatically qualified me for something (like this task). I spent a few more hours at the local Walmart then I did in highschool my senior year (have you seen the lines?) and procured enough backpacks, pens, paper, pencils, and school supplies for 20 kiddos (boys and girls of different ages) packed it all up and delivered it to Inge to distribute to the appropriate families with some Walmart gift cards (in case I omitted something or just royally screwed it up). To my amazement and relief, Inge told me I done good, hit the hammer on the head, and nailed the dive (or something to that nature). Anyways, the point is - You can't underestimate a good education! I for example, might only be 50 somethin' years old but thanks to diligence, dicipline, perserverance, and my long hours of academia, I proudly have the reading skills of a 68 year old.

Sometimes the Lord helps you keep life in it's proper perspective. I don't know these folks personally but I somehow inherently know these folks from all the other American Gold Star family members I have been blessed to meet as an ambassador of Soldiers Angels. Robert Stokely proud Gold Star Father of SGT Mike Stokely Killed In Action in August of 2005 near Yusufiyah Iraq, told me last year at a MOPH event, that his son wasn't married and had no children, and his goal was to keep Mike's story alive, because a man is only truly dead when no one remembers him no more. Here's an email example Patti received today that made me shed a tear of sorrow and some tears of joy.
Dear Patti, Several years ago when our son was killed in Iraq and our young daughter endeavored to create "Semper Fi Fields" as a memorial to her brother and other Fallen by creating a "caisson" horse to perform at memorial services in the PNW, you and your Angels came forth with an extremely generous donation to provide her foundation horse "Sarge" a living his first year with us during training.....those funds and your encouragement provided us the ability and ambition to press forward in spite of almost losing Sarge to sever Colic over last Fall. However, we have never been sure that we adequately thanked you and your angels.... We want to sincerely thank you at this time by letting you know that Sarge is well and as cantankerous as ever.... Ariana is going into 8th grade this year and has been working to fulfill her dream for Semper Fi Fields by extending our ambitions I will be attempting to attend a hippotherapy seminar in November to learn how to gear more towards working with wounded and PTSD veterans using horses as therapy. In the meantime Ariana is riding Endurance Competition in memory of our James' and all our servicemembers and thier families. This past Saturday she rode a 50 mile Endurance Competition requiring her to finish within 12 hours - the heat was soaring at 100 degrees in Central Oregon and at each vet check I suggested she give up because of the extreme heat - she refused in spite of her borderline exhaustion - I couldn't stop the tears as I watched her come through the finish well ahead of end time to complete the race as she raised her arms smiling at me and pointing to the bracelet she has worn over four years bearing the name and dates of her brother, Cpl James L Moore and the reminder to "Never Forget" as well as her brother's motto "Never Give In".... Thank you all for being instrumental in the growth of her dreams and for all you do that keeps encouraged to continue to lovingly support our own adopted soldiers. God Bless you and all you strive to do and accomplish.... sincerely, The proud Gold Star Family of Cpl James Lee Moore (2/3/80-1/26/05) and the proud parents of Ariana Lee Moore PLEASE SHARE THIS AS YOU SEE FIT, Suzanne Moore
